Circle Theatre held its annual fundraiser, Private Party, at its Forest Park theater on June 11. The gala Mardi Gras-themed event mixed a $1,000 raffle, a silent auction with more than 50 items, a Big Easy-inspired dinner and open bar with Southern-style drinks, a chocolate dessert buffet and a performance of Circle's current production, Thou Shalt Not.
Co-chairs of the event were Circle Theatre board members Jeff Arena and Richard Roeder and Board President Jeanne Wall. Art Jones of Forest Park National Bank & Trust served as honorary chair. It was sponsored by the Madison Avenue Merchants Association. The over $20,000 raised will go to the general operating expenses connected with Circle's upcoming 21st mainstage season, which opens with Noel Coward's Design for Living in September, and its Emerging Young Artists productions for young people ages 10 to 18.
