What's with the fireworks?

For the past few weeks almost every night from before dark to quite late (11 p.m. or so) there seem to be fireworks going off in the communities around Oak Park. I don't have a problem with this, but it seems curiously like so much more than in past years, when they would just happen in the days around the 4th of July. A quick online check doesn't reveal any announcements about any communities hosting fireworks displays — in fact, most of the items that come up are about the cancellation of upcoming events. Does anyone know what's up?
