A luncheon honoring volunteers at West Suburban Medical Center was held on April 13 at Oak Park Country Club. Each year the board of trustees celebrates the dedicated men and women who contribute so much time and effort to the hospital.

Winnie Bixby, manager of volunteer services and the gift shop, emceed the event and said that in 2004, 225 volunteers gave 27,000 hours of service at West Suburban Medical Center.

As final payment of a pledge to the College of Nursing for a new Learning Lab, Auxiliary President Cille Bucolo presented a check for $200,000 to Jay Kreuzer, chief executive officer of the hospital.

The next Auxiliary pledge will help finance a new GI procedure room in the department of gastroenterology. The primary source of funding for all pledges is the annual Celebration Dinner Dance scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
