Bunny Sue Peters Schubert

Bunny Sue Peters Schubert, 63, died on Wednesday, March 4 at West Suburban Hospital, surrounded by family.

Born 10 days after Easter to Betty (Bramhall) and David Peters in Oak Lawn, the family moved to Oak Park in 1966 to be close to her mother’s aging parents, John and Goldie Bramhall. She attended Mann School and Oak Park and River Forest High School. Her first job was at Ups and Downs in downtown Oak Park which fit perfectly with her love for fashion and retail. She later worked at Pan’s Grocery Store and The Villager until it closed.

She married James Fitzpatrick in 1975 and made Oak Park their home. After their divorce, she married Steve Schubert in 1989.

She had a big heart and was always ready to help family and friends. She enjoyed sharing her love of nature with those who will remember her as grandma or aunt. She will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered.

Bunny was the mother of James Fitzpatrick Jr. (Martha) and David Fitzpatrick (Heather); step-mother to Therese (Scott) Makowiecki and George Schubert; grandmother to Gabriel, James, Anna Maria, and Cooper Fitzpatrick, and Scott and Madison Makowiecki; sister of David Peters Jr. (Patty), the late Michael Peters (the late Carol), Niki Merrick (Larry), and Dru Ellen Johnson; and Auntie Bun Bun to many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Michael, her sister-in-law Carol, and her nephew, Peter Merrick.
