District 200 officials announced on Thursday evening that they are cancelling classes for students on Friday in light of the coronavirus outbreak.
“After careful consideration of information from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) regarding social distancing and the support of preventative measures to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus in our community, we are canceling classes for students tomorrow, March 13,” stated D200 Supt. Joylynn Pruitt Adams.
“Administrators and staff, however, will be in attendance to prepare for the e-learning days that we will implement beginning on Monday, March 16, through Friday, March 20. Students will not physically come to school, but these will be attendance days where they will have coursework and assignments.”
Pruitt-Adams said that on Friday, students and families may stop by OPRF between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., “to pick up all essential items, books, and valuables. After this time students and families will not have any access to the school until further notice.”
