Beyond Hunger is thrilled to announce Nathaniel Rateliff as the featured talent for this year’s Virtual Benefit Concert to help end hunger. On Saturday November 21st Rateliff will spotlight works from his new critically acclaimed album “And It’s Still All Right” a very personal musical journey about hardship and finding joy through life’s struggles.
Opening for Rateliff is Chicago favorite and vocal powerhouse Shemekia Copeland accompanied by Ronnie Baker Brooks. Copeland will highlight new works from her October 23rd release of “Uncivil War”, an album already receiving critical acclaim.
Both featured acts strike an emotional cord in relation to our community’s recent challenges related to the Pandemic and civil unrest.
Following the show, VIP Backstage Pass ticket holders have exclusive entry into a special, live, question and answer session with Rateliff, moderated by esteemed radio blues icon Tom Marker.
The entire night will be broadcast for ticketholders so that they may enjoy the rocking and poignantly moving Blues and Americana performances all from the comfort of their own homes. Proceeds from the virtual concert event directly benefit the hunger relief efforts of Beyond Hunger. Located in the near-west suburbs of Chicago, Beyond Hunger provides nutritious groceries and social services support to sustain struggling families, serving more than 40,000 individuals each year.
