Oak Park and River Forest High School students and their teachers traveled overseas last summer as part of their annual summer excursion and field trip courses. The groups traveled to Spain, Japan and Costa Rica, while another group spent time in Florida learning about Marine biology. The students spent time in the rainforests of Costa Rica for their Tropical Ecology courses. In Spain, students attended Centro Mundo Lengua — a Spanish school run by OPRF alum David Hirsch — where they attended language classes and visited the city's historical sites. Students visiting Japan took classes at OPRF's sister school there and participated in local festivals.
