What does your business do?

We are a team of pediatric counselors offering emotional and behavioral support in an interactive, playful and child friendly way.

What is "super" about your business?  Why is it special?

At IFC, we don't believe there's a one size fits all solution for the children we see in our practice. We offer a unique approach called Through the Eyes of a Child, where we become part of a child's world, working with parents, teachers, coaches and other persons of influence in the child's life.

Tell us a bit about yourself…

I created Individual and Family Connection because I am passionate about connection and want to help families create more positive, healthy connections with one another. As a special needs mom, a foster parent, child therapist, and business owner, I have had to work hard on finding balance in my life. When I am not wearing my "business hat" you may find me working out at Bar Method!

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be?

We ask our clients this all the time! I would have to say to multiply. Going back to wearing so many different hats, it would be nice to be able to do and be everywhere all at the same time!

Why did you choose to invest in our community?

IFC's home base and first location is in Roscoe Village, Chicago. Many of our clients were traveling far distances in order to receive our unique pediatric services. I knew that I wanted to expand our services to make it more accessible to those living outside of the city. OP/RF has been home to many of our current clients and there seemed to be a need in the area for specialized pediatric mental health care. We knew that this area would be our next home!

What local organizations have you been able to support in the past?

We have supported local non-profits such as, My Hood, My Block, My City and Meals on Wheels

What's the weirdest thing you sell or offer? Or have there been any odd customer requests?

Right now we are offering outdoor therapy sessions, complete with outdoor office spaces!

Name three of your favorite local businesses (besides yourself, of course!)

Buzz Cafe, Musikgarten Garden of Oak Park, POP pediatric therapy services
