Oak Park officials are reportedly working to figure out how to hold the Farmers Market this year despite the COVID-19 pandemic. "The availability of fresh produce in the community is important," said a village statement. How to do it while observing proper social distancing and meeting other public health concerns will be the task of village staffer Cam Davis who will work with the Farmers Market Commission and the part-time market manager. It will be a few weeks before details are announced. No mention of donuts was included in the announcement

How is this even a priority? There are many Farmers' Markets operating across the area with no contact pick-up and delivery models. Don't assign Village staff to do it, just have them copy what is already being done at Local Foods, Green City Market, and other places that offer locally grown produce. Only in Oak Park do we believe that we have to invent everything ourselves. Unreal.
