Report From Florida

Marsha and I have arrived at Fort Myers Beach, Florida. We drove, which provided us the opportunity to see up close that mysterious part of the country called The South. Here is my brief report.

There is a surfeit of sushi, but plenty of fried food. At Buffalo's ,a restaurant outside of Macon, Georgia, we were offered fried cheesecake for desert. We passed lest we have to buy a teeshirt from the store down the road that advertised sizes up to XXXXXL. I almost bought one to use as a blanket if it got cold.

We saw a a giant billboard "Where's The Birth Certificate?" -- proof positive that inbreeding diminishes the gene pool.

The Gun and Ammo Superstore was closed so I guess my granddaughter will have to be content with a conch shell souvenir.

But everyone has been very friendly and we enjoy telling our Chicago snow stories. We avoid political discussion, and so far it's been warm enough that I haven't had to wear my Obama ski cap.

Marsha's mother and sister are arriving on Sunday. I'm flying back to Chicago. There are hard choices in life.
