Nope, this is not a post about green technology or renewable power sources. I'm wondering how we take the energy of 58 comments and more (a huge surprise) and turn it into something real and effective.

My previous post about the achievement gap and the need to rededicate ourselves to ameliorating it got a lot of response. In addition to the comments, I heard from numerous people in the community and even from folks in other communities that had something they wanted to add. It was a tremendous amount of energy and activity.

Clearly, the achievement gap is something that stirs discussion. Just as clear to me after this post, it is something people want to address. And, also clear, people are at a loss of what to do.

So, dear readers, I leave this post as an open thread of sorts. What solutions would you propose to dealing with the achievement gap? Leave your thoughts in the comments.

If you are interested in getting more involved in this issue, you can also email to get on the email list of a new group I'm helping form around the issue.

Happy Holidays!
