Mrs. Lois Catrambone, MA '92 of River Forest, Illinois, truly exemplifies Concordia University's mission of living the Gospel of Jesus Christ as someone who serves and leads with integrity, creativity, competence and compassion. Mrs. Catrambone has an extensive background in serving others. Her teaching career spans 50 years from being a rural teacher in a one-room schoolhouse in Wisconsin, to teaching upper primary grades in an Oak Park Elementary school, to instructing baccalaureate and master's levels reading and education courses at Concordia University Chicago.  She has also been a past president of the Oak Park Teacher's Association and the West Suburban Reading Council, the past co-chair and committee member of the annual Concordia-West Suburban Reading Council, and a member of the Illinois Reading Council and the International Reading Association.  She has volunteered at several local area hospitals and has been a volunteer diagnostician for the Hephzibah Children's Association. Concordia University Chicago honored her as Alum of the Year in 2004 and she received the Humanitarian Endeavor Award in 2008 for her extraordinary work.  Concordia-Chicago is extremely grateful to Mrs. Catrambone and the late Mr. Frank Catrambone for their generous support over the years.
