By River Forest School District 90

Rocking to the unofficial anthem, Roar by Katy Perry, about 400 students, parents, Board members, faculty and staff, volunteers, and friends of Lincoln School came together on Thursday, October 22 to celebrate the school being named a 2015 National Blue Ribbon School. Held on the school's Franklin Playground, this Community Celebration was short on speeches, but long on celebratory energy. Providing brief remarks were current Lincoln Principal Casey Godfrey and former Lincoln Principal Pam Hyde, District 90 Superintendent Ed Condon, and Board of Education President Pat Meyer. Officials from the Village and the River Forest Police Department mingled among the families sipping hot chocolate and munching on cookies decorated to highlight the Blue Ribbon Award. The evening ended with music, singing, dancing, and general revelry among the families and residents. Many thanks go to Lincoln's PTO for making this celebration such a success!
