Gerald David Keeley Sr., 81, of Brookfield, formerly of River Forest and Chicago, died on Aug. 30, 2018 at JourneyCare Hospice in Chicago.

Mr. Keeley was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and graduated with honors from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a B.S. in business. He worked for Westinghouse Electric and Michael Lewis/Simon Products. 

He was the husband of Aila (nee Koile); the father of Gerald (Barbara Laper) Keeley Jr., Elizabeth (Dean) Zaverdas, Steven (Rebecca Holstein) Keeley, Patrick Kirby, Kelly Kirby and Shelly (Lyn) Bryant; the grandfather of 17; the great-grandfather of five; and the brother of Mary Jane (George) Novak, Jim (late Betty) Keeley, Paul Keeley, late Patricia (late Tod) Pierce and the late Pamela (Jerry) Nichols. 

Visitation will be on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 2 to 8 p.m., with a memorial service and military honors at 6:30 p.m., at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, 2447 Desplaines Ave., North Riverside.
