Oak Park burglary suspect arrested 

Oak Park police arrested Chicago resident Cedrick Pipes, 54, of the 5300 block of West Madison Street, and charged him with a burglary that occurred sometime between 8:11 a.m. on May 28 and 8:15 p.m. on June 24 in the 800 block of South Humphrey Avenue. 

Pipes was processed and held for bond hearings, police report. No additional information was given.

 Burglary to garage

A garage was burglarized in the 1200 block of North Austin Boulevard on June 24, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 9 p.m., according to Oak Park police. The burglar entered the resident’s garage and stole a bicycle and a lawnmower valued at a combined $400.

A garage was burglarized in the 600 block of South Lombard Avenue on June 24, sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., according to Oak Park police. 

The burglar entered the resident’s garage through an unlocked side service door. Once inside they shattered the front driver’s side window to the victim’s blue Ford Explorer and stole a center console cup holder containing spare change. The estimated damage and loss was $205. 

A garage was burglarized in the 200 block of South Grove Avenue on June 17, between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., according to Oak Park police. 

The burglar entered the resident’s garage through an unlocked service door and stole a black Trek bicycle valued at $100.

 Attempted theft of motor vehicle

A blue Chrysler Town & Country in the 200 block of South Austin Boulevard was the target of an attempted motor vehicle theft sometime between 6:30 p.m. on June 22 and 8 a.m. on June 23, Oak Park police reported. 

The thief used a pry tool to open the driver’s side door. Once inside, the thief then attempted but failed to remove the key ignition system, according to police.

 

Theft of a motor vehicle

A silver 2000 Chrysler Town & Country van was stolen from the 900 block of South Humphrey Avenue sometime between 10 p.m. on June 22 and 11 a.m. on June 23, according to Oak Park police. The estimated loss was $4,000.

 Grace Episcopal jacked for copper

Two 20-foot sections of copper downspouts were stolen from Grace Episcopal Church, 924 Lake St., sometime between 3 p.m. on June 15 and 7 a.m. on June 22, according to Oak Park police. Police report that the loss is estimated at $600.

 Disorderly conduct

A 56-year-old Oak Park man was arrested at 12:58 a.m. in the 900 block of Pleasant Street on June 24, and charged with disorderly conduct, according to Oak Park police. 

Police reported that the victim witnessed the man looking into her bedroom window.

 These items, obtained from the Oak Park and River Forest police departments, came from reports filed June 23-30 and represent a portion of the incidents to which police responded. Anyone named in these reports has only been charged with a crime and cases have not yet been adjudicated. We report the race of a suspect only when a serious crime has been committed, the suspect is still at large, and police have provided us with a detailed physical description of the suspect as they seek the public’s help in making an arrest
