Drivers, please follow the rules of the road

Dear motorists:

When you're in an intersection with a 2-way stop sign and you're driving on the cross street, yes, you must still stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk, even if it's not painted (state law), and by the way, no stop sign does not allow you to exceed the speed limit.

You're supposed to stop for people in the intersection regardless of whether there is a stop sign or not.

And drivers please please stop either behind or on the white line! Not IN the walkway!! Pedestrians, please cross at corners, not in the middle of the street with your children in tow. I am surprised how many parents cross in the middle of the street behind parked with their children.

LOL, Done. You're right, the line of cars who don't stop is far, far greater. Maybe I shouldn't be giving a medal to the 2 people who follow the rules? Setting the bar too low.

Kyle - "To those drivers who do stop, thank you for following the law." I'm guessing you meant "To the one or two drivers who do stop..."

Thanks for bringing up this issue, Linda! While we're at it, can we get more crosswalks marked, some signs, tickets for failing to stop? And pedestrians, please use them if they're there. To those drivers who do stop, thank you for following the law.
