Melba E. Rausch (nee Strickle), 86, died peacefully at her Oak Park home on May 19, 2017. Born in Chicago on Oct. 11, 1930 to the late George and Josephine Strickle, she was a graduate of Morton East High School and worked as a career counselor for many years. Although she was a working mother, her most important job was raising her three children, and she was a devoted grandmother who cherished her time with her grandson. 

Melba is survived by her children, William (Julie) Rausch, Laurie Rausch and Lissa Rausch; her grandson, Jacob Rausch; and her siblings, Rosemarie Solin and George Strickle. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her other siblings, Henry Yeager, Marian Hahn, Lorraine Kluga and Grace Marsik. Melba will be missed but will live on in our hearts. 

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 23 from 3 to 9 p.m., and on Wednesday, May 24 at 10:30 a.m., a chapel funeral service will be held at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, 2447 S.
