Meet Super Heroes Harriet Coles & Julie Kreiner!

Harriet & Julie own Sirius Cooks, Inc. in Oak Park which employs one person.

What does your business do?

We make homemade, fresh, healthy food (everyday) for dogs and cats. We are concerned about their well-being, so we use human-grade ingredients, grain-free and single proteins.

What is "super" about your business?  Why is it special?

We started over 10 years ago when cooking for dogs and cats was thought a fad. It isn't.

Tell us a bit about yourself…

We enjoy growing things (gardening), 2nd-handing (recycling) and reading.

If you could pick a superpower, what would it be?

Is making people kind to each other and animals a superpower?

Why did you choose to invest in our community?

Forward-minding thinkers.

What local organizations have you been able to support in the past?

Animal Care League, OPALGA, OP Education

What's the weirdest thing you sell or offer? Or have there been any odd customer requests?

Bully sticks or duck feet.

Name three of your favorite local businesses (besides yourself, of course!)

Eastgate Cafe, Skrine Chops, We Do It Best (formerly Peasley's in Forest Park).

oh I love these guys and so does my dog. They have more than just homemade food, like lots of treats to chose from.
