A four-part Senior Health Series that has covered hearing, strokes and Medicare concludes on Monday, April 20 with a presentation on arthritis.
 
Dr. Victoria Brander will be leading a free session at River Forest Township, located at the River Forest Community Center, 8020 Madison St. The program, ponsored by River Forest Township and the River Forest Public Library, is from 11 a.m. to noon and is called “The Latest in Arthritis Care…What’s Right for Me?”
 
Brander, a River Forest resident, is the co-director of the Arthritis Center for the NorthShore University Health System and is an associate professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Northwestern University Medical School.
 
In her session, Brander will cover topics ranging from stem cell injections, neuromuscular electrical stimulation and anti-inflammatory foods to yoga and minimally invasive surgery.
 
Prior Senior Health Series programs have been led by Ken Cozette of Thrivent Financial, who discussed the ins and outs of Medicare; Dr. Edward Sloan, a UIC emergency physician and specialist in stroke emergencies, and TJ Remec, Doctor of Audiology at Connect Hearing in River Forest who also provided free hearing screenings.
