The Oak Park Education Foundation's exciting roster of summer B.A.S.E. Camp classes for students entering grades 1-9 is now available for registration at www.opef.org/basecamp/register/. B.A.S.E. Camp (Build A Summer Education) filled up fast last summer, so register soon!
This summer's program includes Geared Up (engineering with LEGOs), LEGO Landmarks, Architecture Adventure, Vex Robotics, Genetics Mural, Dissection, Medical Illustration & Dissection, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), Digital Photography, and Summer in Song (songwriting and chorus). These will be great fun, and educational, too!
B.A.S.E. Camp runs from June 4-29, but classes vary in start dates, times, lengths and locations. Programs are open to students from any and all schools. And this year camp will take place at three locations: Julian Middle School, Brooks Middle School, and Oak Park and River Forest High School.
The Oak Park Education Foundation (OPEF) is a privately funded, non-profit organization bringing experts into K-8th grade classrooms to work hands-on with District 97 students and teachers. In addition to B.A.S.E. Camp, OPEF runs Architecture Adventure, LEGO-based Geared Up, Science Alliance, and Art Start. For more information, contact Deb Abrahamson, OPEF Executive Director, (708) 524-3023,dabrahamson@op97.org, www.opef.org.
